Apply for the Young Reporters Programme at FISU World University Games

The International Student Sports Federation FISU is looking for young journalists to develop their sports journalism skills at the summer edition of the 2023 World University Games in Chengdu, China. The application deadline is on the 14th of April.

Students or recent graduates in journalism, communications and digital media studies between the ages of 21 and 25 are welcomed to apply as participants for the Young Reporters Programme. In the programme, those aiming for a career as a journalist are offered the opportunity to learn journalistic skills while receiving expert mentorship, in the center of an international sports event.

Those selected for the programme will receive media accreditation for the Chengdu 2023 FISU Games, providing them access to competition venues as well as the Main Press Centre.

The Chengdu 2023 FISU World University Games were originally planned to be held in 2021. After being postoned twice, the summer universiades will now take place on 28 July-8 August 2023. The Young Reporters Programme lasts from 23 July to 9 August 2023. Journalists participating in the programme need to be proficient in English.

The deadline for the applications to the Young Reporters Programme is 14 April 2023. Submissions must be emailed to Media@fisu.net and presidentoffice@aipmedia.com.     Ten Finnish athletes took part in the European Universities Orienteering Championship held in St. Gallen, Switzerland, at the end of August. Now being held for the second time, the participants had high praise for the organisation of the event.
