The centenary of the Finnish Student Sports Federation culminates in the General Assembly in Vantaa
The member organisations of the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL) will meet at the Vantaa campus of Laurea University of Applied Sciences for the Federation’s General Assembly on 20–21 November. The hundred-year-old Federation now invites both student unions and universities to become members.
The history of OLL and Finnish student and university sports will be published on the eve of the General Assembly, on the 19 November. Both the book launch, which is open to the public, and the General Assembly will be held at the campus of Laurea University of Applied Sciences on Ratatie 22.
The General Assembly itself will be opened on Wednesday 20 November at 9:30 am. The first day of the General Assembly will end with a reception held by the City of Helsinki. At this event, the OLL Trophy and the Flame of the Year prize will be awarded to people or organisations who have promoted university sports in the past year.
On Thursday the 21 of November the members will elect a new board and set guidelines for the Federation’s work in 2025. Earlier this year, the Federation made a rule change which allows universities to join the Federation as ordinary members alongside student unions. This change, which has been approximately four years in the making, will be sealed at the General Assembly when members decide on the membership fees of ordinary members.
Representatives of the media are welcome to watch the meeting in person or via OLL’s Youtube channel. On social media, we will be using #liikuntaliitto.
OLL represents all university students in Finland. The Federation currently accepts student unions as ordinary members and university sports services as supporting members.
