Sport in university

We are building a sports-friendly university by creating opportunities for students to play sports and compete with a goal or for their own pleasure, both domestically and internationally.

Student sports events

We are responsible for the Finnish Student Championships by granting the right to organize the competitions and supervising their arrangements.

As a member of international student sports federations, we give Finnish athletes the right to participate in the European Universities Championships and European Universities Games. We have signed a cooperation agreement with the Finnish Olympic Committee on participation in the FISU World University Championships and the Summer and Winter Universiades.

Together with the Baltic countries, we organize the traditional SELL Student Games every four years.

Developing a sport in university

The Sport in University Committee develops the federation's and universities' competition activities. In addition, we also monitor the interests of student athletes, for example in issues of dual careers and in the process of a top athlete-friendly university created by the Finnish Olympic Committee.
